- Commodity name: Copper wire drawing oil wastewater
Wire drawing oil is mainly used in the metal (such as copper, aluminum) wire drawing process of the wire and cable industry, playing roles in lubrication, cooling, cleaning, etc. As the working time of the wire drawing fluid increases, free acids and alkalis in the wire drawing fluid gradually accumulate, which reduces the lubricating capacity of the wire drawing fluid. In severe cases, this will cause wire breakage. At this point, the wire drawing fluid needs to be replaced, and wire drawing oil wastewater is generated accordingly. The treatment process of copper wire drawing fluid waste mainly consists of demulsification, oil-water separation, oil removal, copper removal, adjustment, and oil-water combination.
Wire Drawing Oil and Its Wastewater Treatment Process
Treatment Process Steps:
- Demulsification: Take the copper wire drawing fluid waste, add acid solution under stirring conditions to adjust the pH value to 1-4, and stir until the wire drawing fluid waste changes from blue emulsion to milky white turbid liquid, thus obtaining the demulsified liquid.
- Oil-water Separation: Transfer the demulsified liquid from Step 1 to an oil-water separator, then separate the oil phase and water phase to obtain the separated water phase and separated oil phase.
- Oil Removal: Add a flocculant to the separated water phase from Step 2 to remove residual organic matter, resulting in a clear liquid.
- Copper Removal: Electrolyze the clear liquid obtained from Step 3 at a current of 1-10A. Observe until the water changes from blue to colorless or light yellow, then terminate the electrolysis. Treated water is obtained, and elemental copper is collected at the cathode.
- Adjustment: Add a pH adjuster to the treated water from Step 4 to adjust its pH value to 7.5-9.
- Oil-water Combination: Mix the separated oil phase from Step 2 with the treated water from Step 5, add an emulsifier, and stir evenly to obtain the copper wire drawing fluid.
