Inclined Tube Settler

The inclined tube settler adopts honeycomb inclined tubes made of ethylene-propylene copolymer, glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP), or polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The inclination angle is 60°, the inclined length is 1 meter, and the inner inscribed circle diameter varies from 35 mm to 50 mm. The inner inscribed circle diameter can be adjusted according to water quality to achieve the optimal sedimentation effect.

Working Principle of the Inclined Tube Settler

Based on the principle of horizontal flow sedimentation, the inclined tube settler increases the wetted perimeter of the water-passing section in the tank by adding numerous inclined tubes. At the same time, it reduces the hydraulic radius. Therefore, under the same horizontal flow velocity (V), the Reynolds number (Re) can be significantly reduced, thereby minimizing water turbulence and promoting sedimentation.

In addition, an inclined tube assembly with a 60° angle is installed above the sludge suspension layer. Suspended solids, solidified substances in the raw water, or flocculent alum flowers formed after coagulant addition accumulate into a thin sludge layer on the bottom side surface of the inclined tubes. Relying on gravity, this sludge layer slides back into the sludge suspension layer and then settles into the sludge collection hopper. The sludge is discharged into the sludge tank through the sludge discharge pipe for further treatment or comprehensive utilization. The supernatant gradually rises to the water collection pipe and is discharged, which can be directly discharged or recycled.

Features of the Inclined Tube Settler
1. Sludge can automatically fall into the residue hopper, facilitating sludge discharge and reducing the labor intensity of residue cleaning.
2. Equipped with an agitator, a chemical tank, and a mixing reaction tank, it can simultaneously perform coagulation treatment on sewage, expanding the functions of the device.
3. Small footprint, which is only 1/4 of the length of a horizontal flow sedimentation tank, and the sedimentation efficiency can be increased by 3 to 5 times. It adopts the laminar flow principle to improve the treatment capacity of the sedimentation tank; shortens the particle sedimentation distance, thereby reducing the sedimentation time; and increases the sedimentation area of the sedimentation tank, thus improving the treatment efficiency.
Applications of the Inclined Tube Settler

The inclined tube settler can be used as supporting equipment for water treatment processes such as air flotation and sublimation, and can also be used for single-stage treatment of various types of sewage. Luoyang Yiteng Environmental Protection Engineering Co., Ltd. has installed many parallel inclined plates with small intervals or parallel inclined tubes with small diameters in this device, which improves the sedimentation effect and effluent rate, and has a particularly significant effect on the removal of dispersed particles.

This device is widely used in the treatment of industrial wastewater, domestic sewage, and non-ferrous metal processing wastewater; the treatment of hydraulic dust removal wastewater from power plants and boiler rooms; the treatment of washing water from gas stations; the treatment of biochemical water; and the pretreatment of water supply purification:
1. For mixed electroplating wastewater containing various metal ions (such as chromium, copper, iron, zinc, nickel, etc.), the removal rate is over 90%. Generally, electroplated wastewater can meet the discharge standards after treatment.
2. For coal mine and mineral processing wastewater, the turbidity can be reduced from 500-1500 mg/L to 5 mg/L.
3. For printing and dyeing wastewater, the chroma removal rate is 70-90%, and the COD removal rate is 50-70%.
4. For wastewater from industries such as leather making and food processing, a large amount of organic matter is removed, with a COD removal rate of 50-80% and an impurity solid removal rate of over 90%.
5. For chemical wastewater, the COD removal rate is 60-70%, the chroma removal rate of the inclined tube settler is 60-90%, and the suspended solids meet the discharge standards.
